Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Here's today's problem:

Overnight, it appears as if a few hundred tiny white "organisms" have come alive. They are clinging to the side of my tank and are clearly moving around. The larger ones look almost like tadpoles, with a central circular area and a small tail like extension.

Currently, the tank is near the end or just about cycled. It has two blue legged hermits, a blue damsel, and five turban (or Astrea) snails.

Also, when I was acclimating the snails, two of them seemed to be locked in snail love, though for all I know they reproduce asexually.

Basically, with this lackluster information, I was hoping somebody could tell me if they thought the organisms were snails and, more importantly, how should I approach getting them out of the setup.

I would bet you are talking about pods. Do they look like snails or bugs? If they look like snails or bugs, it's all good.

If it looks more like a worm though - listen to Dr. Frag.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna assume the worst and try to clean these out. It takes a little imagination to see them as small snails, but Dr. Frag has me thinking better safe than sorry.

Ok, a few days have passed. Since the little white things appeared. Today, I saw the first worm shaped entity, a very small white one which I removed. I siphoned out a lot of the small tadpole organisms, but a good deal are still left.

I guess, then, my question is pretty straightforward: are these white worms a form of flat worm and are chemicals the only way to do it?
