I had a Mexican turbo snail in my tank for a while now and just added some aresta snails (sp?) on Thursday. I have now seen the turbo snail twice look like it was mating with a snail of another species. The snails were foot to foot just sitting there. Was wondering if this was possible or if they are fighting or something else? Thanks in advance for your help, karma for good answers. Rob

I would guess they are fighting or just trying to get past each other

Fighting is what I thought but looked up snails mating online and somewhat looked liked that. The aresta snail is on its side with the turbo snail on top with both of their feet touching almost like they are making out. Have recently seen some post of snails mating and seeing baby snails in their tank so was seeing if I may have the same thing going on.

they are probably just eating the same food area. True Mexican turbos won't mate with astreas, they are from a different genus. If you want to get snails that will mate, try asking someone for stomatellas, or dwarf ceriths.
