Hi everyone, It's been awhile since I have been here. Since being layed off I have been pretty much just maintaining my tank. Haven't been able to buy any fun stuff. It's been very frustrating. Anyway, about a month ago I finally purchased a new six line wrasse. I was very excited since I always read all the posts about how cool they are. Well, it seemed to be doing well. It was eating and seemed to be hangin' with the other kids on the block. Then after about 3 days it just disappeared. No body parts and nothing outside the tank. My other fish are 1 maroon and one percula (spelling) clown, a purple tang and 3 pajama cardinals. I know it isn't uncommon for a fish to disappear but the same thing happened a month later when I bought a new diamond goby. He was eating and sifting like crazy. After about the third day he was just gone. No other fish seemed to be picking on him and he had plenty of places to hide. I expect there really is no answer, but I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions that may help. My tank is 75 bow front almost three years running. I checked all my numbers and everything is good. I want to add more fish but I'm concerned about the same thing happening again. Any ideas, please and thanks.:-/

check behind your tank on the floor or in your overflow box....I have found a sixline in both places.
Hopefully they just found great hiding places in your rock work and are being bashful!

I was at my LFS today and they suggested maybe I have a mantis shrimp. They told me how to set a trap, so I guess I will give that a try before I buy something new. It seems pretty crazy that I could never have seen it in so long, but I hear these things can happen. So I'll give it a shot.

Both six-line and diamond gobies are known jumpers (I have lost a diamond that way). Do you have an open top? I agree with Pens..check behind the tank

Thanks, guys for your input. My husband and I have searched repeatedly for little fish bodies and haven't found any. I wish I would. At least then I would know it's not something in my tank.
