Somebody suggested i utilise the space and make it into a canopy as i have a lot of light shining into the room , it is quite blinding, would love some ideas, i was thinking hanging some mdf up on hooks with a few cut outs to allow a few fans to be incorporated?

I meant if you were gonna fill in the arch. And put in a stain glass coral / fish. It is unique that you have the arch above the tank. Cover the arch with mirrors so the water reflection bounces all over the room?

I'd frame it in paint all the insides white enamel and either sheet rock using green board or wood like wainscoting ? add a 6" robin Hood duct booster to come on when lights do and cut a 6x10 ceiling or floor register in on a rough in boot and mount the fan on to that to blow hot air out to room . that way it will pull across the waters surface and evaporative cooling will help Keep lights about 10" above water ..
