Yea someone I know had one that was almost, for water changes there was a pump that you hit a button to turn on and it pumped water into the drain and you pushed a button to turn it off than RO/DI saltwater would top-off. I personally wont automate my system more than need be as in timers for my lights and maby maby an auto feeder, but then you cant use frozen food! I enjoy my backbreaking bucket bregade! I enjoy all the work that goes into a tank, thats why I dont hire a service to do it for me!

I agree with Geek. Over planned, looks like hes trying to re-invent the wheel. To each is own.

Well this is a old thread that was dusted off LOL But when I was Kid the guy in the news paper cartoon was Rube Goldberg .. Instead of just using a simple alarm clock Lets build a million dollar set of gears , pulley's levers, counter levers weights and counter weights and get the Clock in motion about an Hour before its time to ring or flip the toast :) Like Pee Wee's Big Adventure movie :)

Just because someone can does not mean they should.. But its just the way I have watched this hobby grow and what its become. I really think most hobbyist ate just wanna be Electricians ad Plumbers and I can tell most have never stood next to a real one :) All are just trying to find a better rat trap to stick their names on.. ;D Hell just look at the simple idea of a sump or refugium .
