DIY refugium

    I just had a thread about aquafuges but I realized there's no space behind my tank. I've read that you have to chamber refugiums. Why can't you just make it like a sump with macros and sand? What are the chambers and can somebody run me briefly through how to DIY a fuge or give me a good article please?

    Some ppl use baffles to stop the micro-bubbles from entering into the refugium section. I did mine differently than most, heres a pic.
