I have a 40 gallon tank for fish - reef , my sump /pump has 600 gph flowing through it do I need additional powerheads ? I put a rena 400 in there too and my new clown stays up at the top only .. is there too much circulation ?

I have a 25g tank and I plan on putting two Koralia II (600gph rated each) powerheads in just to have enough flow....

Wondering if that's overkill though but I heard that they produce less flow than actually rated...

For a 25 gallon 2 koralia 1's should be ok and opposite ends of tank. I have 3 Koralia 1's and 1 Koralia Nano in my 46

just set them up so you get chaotic flow throughout the tank. with just powerheads you may have to readjust them every once and a while so you dont develope dead spots.

So a couple of the ones should be ood, cool!! Saves me some dough which we all know is NOT easy to do in this hobby, LOL!!!

I think I may go with two I's and a nano just to be safe..... 40*25g=1000gph and two I's would give me about 800gph

i suggest powerheads with good magnet mount if you have a fine sand bed.
