So... I bought a blue tang about 2 weeks ago, noticed a couple days later a few spot of ich on her. Talked to the lfs and they sent me with garlic plus to use on the food and a bottle of reef solution ( amino acids and vitamin solution) to add to the tank. 3 days later she had no spots so I thought she was over the worse, only to notice today that she has it 10x worse than before. She is still eating but scratching a lot. She paid a visit to the cleaner shrimp tonight finally, but didn't stay there for very long. I have a 55g FOWLR, sumpless, I know its small for a tang but she is my excuse to go bigger in the future. She is about 3" right now. I wanted one so bad but now she has given me a bad taste since she brought this crap into my tank.
I don't have a hosp tank. Should I go pick up a cheap tank from walmart? Just looking for any idea's as how to go about dealing with this.
I am also leaving in 2 days and won't be back till Jan 4th. Talk about good timing!:(

If you are leaving, I would take it to your LFS and see if they can get it back to health. I would not leave a sick fish in my tank before I leave for two weeks. Could go very badly.

Try Selcon, havent lost a fish since I started soaking my food in it. As for the reef complete, thats only good for your corals. The garlic is more of a entizer. The true ingredient in garlic that helps with immunity is only found in fresh squeezed garlic. I cant recall the name right now.
