do kole tangs eat...

    that brown dirt and gunk that builds up in the low flow areas? or just algae and film algae off of the rocks and glass.

    I have it down to one corner in both my display tank and my lagoon where the dirt junk settles to, but its a pain to manually remove it... looking for a biological option for removal

    If I were to venture a guess id say its just the algae.try some nassarious (sp) snails. They do a good job on mine

    for kole tangs my friend had tried cooked fridged white rice...
    the kole was bloated after that feed...

    My kole tang appears to munch on that stuff as well. I not only see him pick at the rocks but it seems he does pick at the sand as well which does have that gunk in it.

    I had a kole that only ever picked at algae.

    Its bare-bottom so this stuff all goes to one corner and is more visible than with sand. My cuc is strong still but my wrasses always pick off all the best cleaners
