It also left small "pieces" in its wake, which turned into babies. You can spot 4 in the picture.

i can't say that i sit and watch them move but my mushrooms are in different locations daily. now whether this is from release and float or movement like other anemones, i can't say.

This has happened in my tank as well, with a rhodactis(sp) shroom.

I bought a rock with about 5 heads of green striped shrooms. Not one is still on that rock. Not sure if the flow or lighting was too much, but each one has found a new spot in the rockwork. So in my experience, yes they can move. Not sure if they just use the current to float to a new spot or if they use their foot, but they definitely move.

Cool, thought I was going nuts! I'll leave it be and let it go where it likes and I'll just note it has only been a couple inches from where I placed it originally-not cross tank or anything.

Evolved - How's your St. Thomas doing? Any larger?

I believe the original polyp is as big as it's going to get, probably 3" across when it's fully inflated.

I do have a baby now also. The original "stretched" it's base to a lower part of the rock, then the stretched portion detached. The remaining bit is forming a new polyp, which now is growing and has color. That whole process took ~4 months.

I just put in a frag with a beautiful blue mushroom & I can't keep it in place no matter what i do. I have tried the super glue, i have tied it gently with fishing line and this bad boy will not stick where i want him to stick. Every day since i got him he appears in a different spot than where i put him. I might just let him roam his way. He always seems to appear in a darker spot of the tank than where i had him.
