My parents are making a bigger deal about my sister graduation party than they did with mine the year before and she's not even going to college..

All I literally said was that they are making a bigger deal about it and all hell breaks loose. Dad comes storming in yelling about how he had to spend $300 for my party and when I asked how much they had spent so far he wouldn't answer.

Someone they got the idea that I said they didn't have a party for me. They always talk about being fair and crap but we are literally rearranging the house to fit more tables. Compared to the one table we had during my graduation party.

And at the time when I asked for a party they gave me the we don't have the money speech. What the heck right? They just spent $1000 to fix a dime sized dent on the top of the truck from a hail storm. They some how turned it around on me saying how I've been selfish and whatnot. Yeah I sold my custom built desktop to pay for my laptop for school, and I am paying for my own schooling at TCU and summer classes (they wanted me to drop my summer classes because they booked vacation without telling me), not to mention I had to fix the washers, dryers, fridge, mow the yard, call insurance companies because they didn't know what to do. And now I am calling in dealerships and parts companies to find out what is wrong with my car because it will not start up.

UUUUUUUGHHHHHHH Only one more year and apartment for me. Parents suck. They complain about me wasting their money when I have been using my own money I get from work. The day I moved out for TCU, they packed all my stuff and put it in a storage pod like I had died or something.

This thread is probably more of a place for me to rant. Feeling much better now. Still need to find a decent bed to sleep on. Surprisingly the beds in the dorms were much comfier than the one I have at home.

We all deal with parents an siblings and nothing ever seems fair. LOL, it's all part of growing up. Hang in there and it'll all work out, but it sure feels good to get it off your chest sometimes;D

Anyway... go to school, get that degree and make some good $$$ so you can buy more reefing toys!!

I promise you'll laugh about it all one day.

Did they go to college? The reason I ask this is because it seems as though parents that have not gone to college don't understand what an undertaking it is. They complain more and don't understand why it is worth it.

While I have not gone through what you are going through, I completely understand why you are pissed and would be as well.

LOL at least you have them. Seriously I speak the truth. My mom is coked out somewhere. I dont even know where she lives anymore. When I lived with her it was hell. All the sex and drugs and beatings (not me but her boyfriends). Seriously we had to fend for ourselves. There never was food and I had to go to school without breakfast and she gave no money for lunch. She used our child support for her breast augmentation, lipo, and tummy tuck. I got the hell out of there and Im putting myself through college. I am a year and a half behind but oh well. I never had a dad. Hes mexican and has his own family and such. Prolly saw him like 15 times in my life.

SO it could be worse. Just be happy you have them. Im sure one day you wont even care that they didnt do as much for your party becuase youll have much more to be worrying about. All my siblings hate me too because they believe whatever the hell she tells them. Sometimes I wish life was easier. But I like what I have going on now. Im now married and we have two dogs ( which are like children lol) and an apartment. Oh and my tank! lol It would just be nice to be able to pick up the phone and have parents to talk to.

    Sorry for the rant

Parents never went to school of any kind. They are immigrants. They complain about me going to school for so much but heck I'm getting paid $10 an hour for a part time job as a graphic designer because I am over qualified compared to their $12.50 an hour full time job and not getting paid for overtime.

They have never done much for me for anything. My graduation party was seriously the first party in 11 years. I've been mowing lawns to make money since late elementary school because I know what I wanted.

I have pretty nice reefs and getting ready for a down payment for a lambo. With zero help from them. So private school, reef tanks, lambo? IN YOUR FACE SUCKERS! Some times I feel like I am better off. And once that down payment is down I'm doing a burn out right in front of the house as I leave. Haha

When I was 11, my parents asked me if I was going to go to college. I said, "Yes". They explained the cost to me and how much it was going to cost by the time I got out of high school. Then they said, "If you want to go, you better start saving". And I did. I babysat, mowed lawns, shoveled driveways, raked leaves, and anything else I could do until I was allowed a real job. During college, I went there in the morning and then I worked until 9 pm. Then I went home and studied until 2 in the morning.

My brother was told the same thing. He didn't work. He saved nothing. So they decided to send him to a prestigious private school and they paid for it. I live the life of a monk in college because I was either studying or working (and sometimes, sleeping). My brother went to school and partied.

I bought my own dump to get me back and forth to work and school. Craig didn't have any money so they bought him a car.

My mom has died. I can't tell you how much I would love to have my very unfair parent back. LOL
