Basically yeah....those kind of Joists are what we call TJI joists - which is a main manufacturer of them. Many of the jobs I work on specify them now - due to crazy dressed lumber prices / shortages etc - the technology has gone this way and you can actually use these on longer spans - which seems surprising, i know.

well my custom tank is being delivered tonight. I put a sheet of 3/4" plywood on the top of the stand and painted it with several coats of exterior grade paint. once the tank arrives I'll drill the plywood for my
overflows and paint the back of my tank.

any recommendations on a good paint for glass? also color? was thinking standard black but then thought a blue or blue/green color might be good too? dont like the stick on type of backgrounds as water always seems to get behind them.

hope to get it all painted and bulkheads installed tonight to get ready for the big install this weekend.

I have 2 - 1.5" bulkheads at each corner, do you guys use a bead of silicon on the inside when installing them or just use the rubber gaskets?

I'll postsome pics as soon as the tank arrives.

I'll be painting the back black tonight with Krylon Satin Black. Will drill my holes as well and get the bulheads and drain pipes installed for a leak test.

yah the painting worked well. that Krylon paint sticks to Glass pretty good. took 2 full cans to do 3 coats.

as for new fish ..... not sure yet. I'll transfer my percs and blue tang for now. want to make sure everything is working and they enjoy their new home before I look at adding any more.

I'm off to go pick up my sand and my lights this morning and drop off the specs for a new 72"Lx22"Wx18"H sump as I dont think my current 40gallon sump is going to work.

I'll need a new skimmer at some point as well.
