What if i moved the fuge to the first section and removed the media bags, skimmer in the second and return last? The first section is the overflow inlet, but it enters in a cylinder then has to overflow that cylinder to continue flowing to the next chambers and i dont think the flow would be to much for the fuge to handle. This way the skimmer would be before the return with a baffle and bubble difuser in between? If you dont think this is a good idea either, I guess I'll have to see how bad the bubbles are and go from there

Again, I agree with AZ. You will have MB problems at some point. Most skimmers can be dialed in well... but it does not matter, you will get some, and they annoyed me.

I also hated any foam/filter/socks in my setup. Hated maintenance. fish poop is food for everything else. The skimmer itself is a filter, that can be cleaned easily and that's it.

You will have to put the skimmer in one of the other compartments. It does not matter where a fuge is, if it is in line, then everything that flows through he sump flows through the fuge. I do not know if the sock holders can be removed to open up the first compartment. That means you have to put skimmer in the middle.

Just run it... while we can theorize what is "best"... most times things work well regardless as long as you take care of your tank.... but the skimmer will put out micro bubbles. :)
