I am upgrading my tank to a 90 and plan on using a PVC structure for my rock. I will be buying additional 50 lbs of Marco rock which I will drill and attach to the PVC structure.

The real question is how to I incorporate the approximately 30 lbs of LR in my current tank into this structure, without killing off all the critters and goodness that is in the rock ? I also need this rock to seed the additional dry rock I am buying.

    Any ideas?

Drilling will kill some, but very little. Instead of drilling a hole large enough for PVC pipe, consider getting threaded nylon rod (with washers and nuts) and drill smaller (like 3/8") holes. I do this on my tanks combined with PVC supports.
