What kinda bit do you use to drill rock? I want to mount some rock using pvc structure. Also what kind of epoxy can I use?

Have never done it but I'd try a masonry bit.

spend the extra couple bucks to get a good masonary bit. I noticed when I did mine that some of the rock took a few minutes to get through and some like the fiji or florida would break because its sofet and brittle. I do allot of masonary so I just picked up the bit when I did mine at the supply house for I think 12 bucks or something like that.

is there a certain size bit I should use? or for that matter a certain size pvc? the rock will be on the smaller size. Fist sizes. Also did you use epoxy to stabalize it or zipties ?

well, are you planning on using pvc rods, if so, then you need to get a size big enough to allow the rods to fit into the hole. If using zipties, I would go as small as possible to avoid breaking the rock, it is brittle. I prefer using epoxy, it is more expensive, but it looks nicer.

If your rocks are too small for PVC pipes you can purchase slim, clear, acrylic rods and use them in the same manner as the PVC. I have yet to try this technique myself but I have tried PVC. I think the acrylic will be easier to hide.

Your call - I would probably get 3/4" pipe and 1" drill bit but that is just my guess.

Wear work gloves, those rocks are pretty sharp when handling with a drill. I concur about eye protection too. Good call.
