A heavy duty external water pump would be used:

    Aquarium Water Pump (External)

And I see Bogie already got to the Oceans Motions device. That is used to sequence the flow through the pipes (ie wavemaker like settings).

Looks like you had a lucky find there .. The over flows to sump will d come from behind the overflow box there should be a coupe of holes there ? And then you could simply get a Dolphin amp master say 5700 low pressure and High volume type pump or something equal then use all the for tank circulation from that pump using two for the pumps feed to wet end then all the rest to the chosen bulkheads in the already drilled holes for high volume flows to keep corals happy and system clean as the flows clean and feed corals .

A Oceans motions is another option that simply offers alternating flows around the ports or bulkheads that is connected to the same pump and then lines are ran to each port or Bulkhead. I'm getting ready to drill and set up a 180 just like this starting tomorrow wife willing to drive me there :) Maybe the guy will take photos of his build and post them. But if you want a reef ? then grab that tank and you can always plug the holes off.. easily enough

ok so you use an 8 way pump and it pulls from one hole on the tank and rotates between the other 8 right.

No. The OM-8 is just a sequencer. You will still need a pump.

I would go with at least 3000GPH. I have heard nothing but great things about the Reeflo's. That's what I am using for the return on my 200.

for the return from sump that will come up behind the overflow box there should be 2 different size holes there now ? the smaller is for the return pipe from the return pump and thats a small pump like a Little giant or iwakie or mar about 1,500 gph is all you want to push through the sump for that size tank..

+1. The sump's flow rate doesn't need to be nearly as high as the display tanks
