Yeah, I had read that as well. The bottle states that is should have a somewhat sweet smell and to be sure to shake once a week, whether you use it or not. Also , if it smells badly, then it has died and to toss it out. :-/

Yeah I feed it to my clam but if it not live I don't have to drive across town to get it. I can buy the Kents stuff. Live should mean live!! I would think.

DT's is live, unless it dies on you (like all living things have to ability to do). Kents has so much preservitives that it can get up and walk away on it's own, IMO steer clear of that mess.

I'd use Phyto-Feast by Reed Mariculture (www.instant-algea.com) or Liquid Life's products. Both have a much higher concentration then DT's or Kents. Both can be bought online and shipped no problem.

Is the liquid life frozen but still in liquid form?  I know it comes in a pump bottle, but my LFS keeps it in the freezer.??

if your lfs is keeping the liquid life bioplankton and coral plankton in the freezer he is wrong that needs to be in the refer. but the marine plankton goes in the freezer. i have actually been to there facility and use there products.

The cryo preserved ones tht go into the freezer don't freeze due to glycerine.
