I fastidiously make sure NONE goes back into the tank. After all, evaporation keeps increasing salinity, why should I help raise salinity as well? Chemically, is salt creep ALL the different elements of the original salt mix, or just some part that precipitates out easily?

Will that two tablespoons (or so) of salt make a great deal of difference in the 100+ gallons of water in the system?
    No, probably not.
But I still clean it away instead of into the water.

Well someone just got the "Word Of the Day TP" LOL

All the power to you I guess. I tried a few times and always ended up having some fall in. After awhile it just became easiere wt wiping it back in the tank.

But after Awhile, I guess the guilt got to me and I had to post the question.//

    Cheers

    Not a good idea...

Think it was Jason McKenzie, who long ago reported having a large piece of "creep" fall into one of his anemones doing serious harm...don't remember if it died or not.

But certainly cannot be good for any coral.

    IS there a PRIZE? ;D

I turn off the pump, and let the water drain to the sump. My tank has a lot of acrylic up top, I think I have only a pair of 9" X 23" openings on a sixty inch long tank. I HAVE to clean both top AND bottom of that acrylic, or buy stronger lights!
