    Hi guys,
I saw on another posting some of ya'll talking about your duncans.
Well I have a few questions about them.
Ok I have a duncan with 4 large heads and 1 smaller one.
When I bought the coral it already had all of these just a ltitle smaller than they are now.
My question is, what do "baby" duncan heads look like?
Do they grow from the stalk or from around the other heads?
I have noticed around some of the heads there looks to be a "pointy" spot on them and didn't know if this was the formation of new heads or just what they looked like.
If anyone has a picture of a baby duncan head that would be great.
    thanks

I believe they are like trumpet corals and frogspawns, the heads split to from new heads.

they grow from the other heads base. Not the stalk. They dont split like a trumpet.

frogspawns and branching hammers split heads and grow more "babies" off their tissue base. My frogspawn has over 20 baby ones growing on its tissue stalks. It has 15 heads, some arent completely split from the others.

Here you go meagan. Here is a photo of my duncan I added about a month ago. It had only 3 heads but now with regular feedings has more than doubled in size. There are more new heads on the other side. You can see 3 new heads below the larger one.

They can also bud off and grow in other locations on the skeleton if a previous head has died off.
