So maybe I'm overreacting but my duncans have all closed up, save for the smallest head which I was just now able to spot feed a little. They have been closed up for the past two days now. At times it looks like the might reopen but then just close back up. The only thing that I can think of is some chem warfare from my recently added kenya trees. The closest tree is about 6-7" away from the duncans. They were doing wonderfully up until the other day. Params are all good and the kenyas are the only change. Any ideas, I would really hate to lose these guys as they are my fav coral.

Oh, as far as the kenyas go, I have one that's about 3" tall, two that are about 2" and one more that hasn't been doing so good and is about 2.5" (it won't attach itself to the rocks). They are all evenly spaced around the tank and if need be can be moved around.

my duncans have done that a few times... sometimes i suspect a slight drop in temp but not sure. I wouldn't worry until after 5 days or so...

Ok, I sure hope nothing is wrong with them. My temp has been stable too.

my temp dropped 2 degrees more than normal at night last week when the weather changed. And I noticed it... not sure if it's connected or not, but they stayed pretty closed up for almost 3 days. Then came back like nothing ever happened.

They also seem to close up for a like a day starting a day after they get fed... which is weird to me, but whatever :)

Definitely don't panic yet. Mine closed for about a month and have been just this week been opening. Seems they can live quite awhile while hiding out.

I just bought a bunch of frags. Almost every one was SPS. They're all doing very well. Among the frags was a 3 head duncan that was open and beautiful at Reef Goddess' place. It's been 7 days in my tank, and since day two, the duncans have been closed up tight. I've been a bit worried. Now, today, they're open somewhat, so I guess it's perhaps common for duncans to be closed for mini-extended periods? Since my SPS are ok, I know it's not my conditions--I don't know what it was/is, but of course I'll monitor it, and hopefully they will open up fully. They're beautiful corals. My first duncan. :)

Here's a shot of the day I put it in my tank, and it hasn't been open since. . until today. ???
