my dwarf lionfish seemed to be doing ok for the first month or two i had him. the last week he has been on a feeding stike and now im noticing scales missing and a piece of flesh missing (cut or scrape). he doesnt swim anymore. the only way he moves is by the filter holding onto him.

im hoping he'll die so he wont have to suffer much longer, as i have no idea what to do for him..

any advice would be nice guys... loved this guy he was very personable and pretty....

he was on frozen foods. my water conditions are spot on. nothing beside him is sick or dying. my corals are flourishing. i boubt he will live through the night guys. when i got home today he was stuck to the filter for the first time... he sits sideways on the bottom of the tank or upside down right next to the filter. no i have not tried live foods yet because he was on frozen. that is definately worth a try thou. :( thanks guys i'll tell you if he passes so we can end the thread.

If he's floating around like that and is basically on his last breath, sorry to say it man but just put him out of his misery. Catch him and put him in a bag of saltwater and put it in the freezer. The cold temp will slow him down enough that he'll just go to sleep without any pain. A lot more humane than flushing, I say.

From your avatar picture, it looks like you have a lot of GHA. That usually means you have higher levels of nitrates and phosphates, which usually results from over feeding or supplementing.
