    hello
new to 3reef and love it here!!
i have always wanted to get one of these guys but people say they are hard to keep. I have a 55 gallon tank with lots of lr and i was wondering if a dwarf zebra lionfish is worth getting in a tank? The lfs near me has some. They are about 1.5 inches long. And are they reef safe cause i would like to get some corals also.

Mine was fine with a brain coral, button polyps and tank mates that wouldn't fit in its mouth. It did eat two coral banded shrimp and that was too much food, I ended up losing him. IMO they need a bit of TLC to make sure they eat, it's hard to feed sometimes. I fed frozen shrimp but it preferred live shrimp. He ate usually twice a week. Overfeeding can be a real problem. I would also say that water chemistry and parameters need to be consistent and very good. I may get another one eventually. Good luck to ya!

They are not hard to keep at all as long as you are willing to put in some runs to the LFS for live rood for awhile. Once they are trained to take frozen foods I would say they are a medium dificulty fish to keep. Completely reef safe as far as Iv heard.
