As reactivity decreases, so does the rate of diffusion of toxins and nutrients through water, as well as participation of molecules. I am interested in it.
There may be a draw back but which is worse the yellowish looking tank and adding more calcium or clear water and less calcium? I know CMKII loves it as he has a review on it, it did take some time to read all the replies but no one has any proof it is bad for the tank. they did say that a test with mussels lost tissue but I am still researching this.
Unless I hear some big negatives I will be getting one in the future.
