    so i was wondering what does your electric bill come out to?
    well i was asking this because i recently switched over to metal halides and my bill went up a whooping 100% well a little more than that. it was around $50 and today i got my bill :eek: $106!!!

    Wow, That's cheap. Here in AZ, in the summer you can get to $400, no problem. My electric now in the winter is 150mo and I have gas heat!

    stop complaining! i WISH my power bill was only $100 haha mine is usually around 200 in the summer but it drops some in the winter..i'm sure my tank is a good portion of that

    Yeah, wow.. The only electric bill I've had that low was before I actually moved in.
    My last one I thought was cheap at $265 and I live in a 1 bedroom condo.
    Pushes $400 in the summer with the aquarium.

    But it doesn't consider how much your AC bill goes up with all the heat.
    That's one of my problems here in 100 Degree Dallas.

    That actually sounds like a lot. My whole fish tank probably cost me $30 a month. It's real easy to figure out. Just look at your bill, see what you are paying per killowatt, and then do the math to see how many watts your lights use a day. I did that for all my stuff and it was like $30. Obviously rates can differ, but $50 for lights.... how many hours a day do you run them and what wattage are they.
