It can be done but you need to know the basics of how a switch works and elec.. Since the act and day are on the same switch, you need to separate the "hot" wire(of either act. or day) and run it to a new switch. Leave the neutral wire alone. You will also need to get a switch that can handle the amps. If you want it to look like it came from the factory, drill a hole that will fit the switch and install it. Good luck. Luna

yes you can run 2 switches if you have seperate ballasts for each of the two lights you want to seperate, 1 ballast for actinics and one for daylight....which i would not think so if they are both on one switch now....

if you are going to run a regular wall switch you would need to use a 14/3. This gives you two hots a neutral and a ground. Same concept as a ceiling fan wired with a switch for both the fan and the light. If this is what you are looking to do let me know and I can draw a digram for you.

well all i really did was take the hot wire running to my day light and cut it screw one side of it to the switch and screwed the other half of the wire to the other terminal on the switch so basically all it does is turn of the daytime light and the actinics remain on but my dumb self forgot that i uplugged a wire for the moonlight so that i could mount the toggle switch and forgot to put it back on so i have to open it back up and put it on
