hi everyone! i am VERY new to the saltwater world. recently picked up a 40g bow front. ever so slowly making a reef tank. the tank has been up and running for about a month and a half.

so far, this is what i have:
    35 lbs sand
15 lbs live rock( more coming, next month)
    heater
    skimmer
    2 powerheads
    2 crabs
and a super sweet orange spotted goby(i love him)

any help for making the setup better would be very much appreciated!

For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p
good luck and post pics soon :)

save some cash on the live rock and buy it dry.
there are several places that have great deals for this:

    MarcoRocks.com
    reefcleaners.org
    bulkreefsupply.com

no, its been dryed out and cleaned, will not cause a new cycle if added to an already cycled or cycling system and becomes live very quickly in a fully cycled tank
