    They do that at times. They will work over the rock very thoroughly at times.

    How long has it been in the tank? IME, they are hide at first and then once they are familiar with their surroundings they will come out and play.

    Give it time, it will most likely get busy tonight after lights out. It will hide more during the day.

    I had one that always hid during the day and only came out during the night. He ended up committing suicide while I was in the Field, so I fixed the problem and replaced him with 2 more. These two are a little bit bigger and are always out lol.

    I use PVC piping under my LR to keep it off the sand bed and to allow more flow around all surfaces of the rock. The crab found a spot where he could get down inside one of the pipes and couldn't get back out. My wife didn't notice it in time to help him out.
