I wanted to add one emerald crab but wanted to confirm from those that have one whether or not they are reef safe? Also will he bother my yellow watchman? What exactly does he eat too?

Mine eventually ate all my xenia. Whether that is good, bad or an omen of worse things to come is a personal an opinion.

Did you see him eat Xenia?
    That's weird.
They are considered reef safe but it is possible for them to get a sleeping fish. I had one for about a year and I think it's dead.. you won't see them very often(in the day). Sometimes I'd go a month or two without seeing him and he showed up. They're usually active at night.

Yes, with my very own eyeballs. He just ripped strand by strand off and munched it down like he was some sort of black and white sci-fi monster destroying Manhattan, one skyscraper at a time.

    Usually... This wasn't.

Chya'a'a'aa it is. Strawberry crabs are 10x worse, definitely not reef-safe (IME.)

I like xenia. They are cheap and pretty. Call me a a coral sl:)t, but they're purdy. I like how they move and how they grope the water. They're just fun to watch. If they overgrow, just cut some off and discard.
