I just thought it would be fun to know what kind of experience 3reefers have. Yes this is another "who are you" or "how old are you" thread :p. Now since ive been a member here on 3reef ive seen allot of new people join up and some of them are not newbies. So just for fun lets see how much baggage your carrying. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

    Ill start ;)

Had a FO tank for 3 years... that was 5 years ago. Now slowly building up a reef tank for the past 6 months or so.

    Marc.

Couple of years Freshwater community, and about 5 years total saltwater. (most from several years ago....and how things change!). Just set back up again in Sept 04.

Ask me whatever you want about parrots tho! 15 years with that! ;D

Been keeping reef tanks for about 10 years.

I started out with freshwater about 12 years ago then jumped straight into reefs. None of that FOWLR stuff for me :)

Thanks! She is my little baby (11 years old now!) and she has a 'birds eye view' of the aquarium. She gets PO's when I work on the tank and don't pay attention to her! LOL!

This is a neat thread! I like to see how long people stay insane in this hobby!!! LOL!

    Definitely cool thread.

I've had freshwater tanks since I was a little kid.

I had my first saltwater tank freshman year in college - 1988, I hardly remember that tank other than the wood grain because I was busy being a freshman.

THen senior year in '91-'92 I had my 40 breeder. I experimented a lot with it and got really into it.

After college I worked at a lfs for a while

1993 I moved to NYC and worked at another fish store. At this time I set up my 30 long. This was a serious reef and working at the fish store got me a lot of cool stuff for whole sale.

I also did maintenance on the side for rich people in the city. That was wild. And the store did serious custom business and I learned how to cut and drill glass. We'd install 8 foot long tanks in walls, that sort of thing. I worked with yman at that store too.

Then in 1994, I moved back to Chicago, brought the 30 long along in my civic (didn't lose anything!) and kept it for another year. Then I decided to go the girls and motorcycle route for a while. :) Wish I kept it now. :'(

Then in the late 90's I started a freshwater plant tank that is still growing strong, especially now with a co2 system on it.

    2002 or 2003 I started the 20 hex.

Last year I swapped it over to the 20 long.

Oh, I can't forget my 75 gallon turtle tank.

    Um yeah. That's all I got. :)

Cool planted tank Matt,  I've always wanted to do a planted tank with Discus, Angels, Cardinals and German Rams in a 125g.  Someday when my kids are all in college.
Birdlady, we had a Quacker Parrot that had a 35 word vocabulary. Use to poop on command and would play peekaboo and say no when it didn't want to do what you told it to do.
