My favia seems to be starting to fade/bleach out. It's up high in my tank and my lights are fairly intense.

Do they bleach from too much light? Should I move him down?

    Thanks!

I've recently run into this with my chalice, just out of the blue starts to fade. Same as you he was high up, but had been there for over 6 months, moved him down and he's coming back around. Now today I notice my blastos look like they may be starting to bleach as well. Still early to tell though.

I'd try moving the favia down and see what happens. They def could be bleaching from too intense of light. Just odd they start out of the blue like that.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I think you should move it down.

While I am fairly new to them, mine in on the bottom, tilted on his side so it does not get such intense lighting.

    Mine also takes feedings well.

Thanks!! I'll move him down tonight. My bulbs are practically brand new too, so I'm sure they are quite blinding! 8)

Corailline - good to know yours feeds well. Mine has been sending out lots of feeders at night so I'm planning on giving him some grub soon. Hoping mine likes to eat as much as yours!

I've actually only had mine for a bit over a week and I first noticed the fading a couple days ago. So makes sense timeline wise.

How strange yours just started fading out of the blue. I'm glad you are seeing improvements!

Ive kept my Favia on the SB ever since I've had her. Low to medium light, same goes for flow. This July she'll be 3 years in my tank :) good luck with yours and enjoy!
