Just got one of these and a diamond goby for my biocube 29. They are in with 2 aggressive clownfish and a blood shrimp. All I know is that the falco is one of the best choices for a reef tank as far as hawkfish go. Anyone have and experience with this fish?

They can be mean!!Especially in small systems.:( I would keep an eye on your shrimp as it will probably become lunch.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I was very limited on what I could add as my clownfish are so aggressive. I have lost fish to them. So far everybody is getting along. The hawk was in a small tank with 5 tiny cleaner shrimp in the store. Did not seem interested in them. My blood shrimp is huge an so far so good but I will keep an eye on him. The hawk is a very interesting fish and I hope everything works out.

Black and white ocellaris. They have been in tank together for one year.

My tank has been running for 6 years and started with two orange ocellaris clowns. Same thing, they became mean even with eachother. Tried many different fish with it but no luck. Last year I gave the clown to a store and started over, getting the small 2 black and white clowns I have now and a chromis. The clowns killed the chromis recently. These clowns are not nearly as aggressive as my previous clowns but still mean.

Aggression is something that can USUALLY be curved with proper tank size and aquascaping. in a 29gal cube the fish do not have very much room to get away from each other and 2 clowns can easily dominate that kind fo space. Proper aquascaping would make their territory in one of the corners and use rockwork and corals to help create visual barriers to help break line of site between them and others

if you rearrange the rock work you are essentially pushing a reset button as the fish's territory is now gone.
