    actually its a one way street.
    unsex->male->female
    it cant go back to the level before so a female cant turn male. and a male cant turn unsexed(or juvi) but a male can turn female.

    Well, got home and the clown is back to its normal, not-so-bloated size. Don't see any eggs anywhere either. Must have gone a little overboard on the tang's broccoli.

    Okay, now I am really confused.
    My male seems fine now. Female now looks fat as can be. There hasnt been any grazing food in the tank lately. I really don't think its bloat, as the fish seem fine, and I wouldn't know how it would have been introduced (havent added a fish in over 4 months). Does any one here actually breed these things, if thats whats even going on?

    Hmmm... they had been eating the broccoli ;)

    I am 100% sure I am not mixing them up. What I am calling the female (the one who has now become fat) is almost twice the others size, and is much lighter in color. It's really easy to tell the two apart.
    I'm not too worried about them anymore, but still something weird is happening, and it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out!

    I know. I dont see why they would have all of a sudden changed sex when there is only two of them, and they have been together in my tank for 4 months, and who knows how long before that (sold to me as mated pair).
    From what I understand the female lays it's eggs, then the male goes over them to fertilize them. Maybe they tried to mate, but the male missed the timing and dropped the fertilizer too early? Happens to the best sometimes...
