a favia frag came from vho lighting and i placed it under my MH. i noticed that the frag started to bleach when i first put it in. So far it seems that the bleaching has stopped now. Will the original color return and will it re-grow zooplankton in the bleached areas?

Yup, just make sure its not under to intesnse lighting right away. Next time put it in a shaded area for a little bit and gradually move it to a more lighted area! hopes this helps :)

I just read more about favia as I got one recently........

Don't put it next to any other corals.

Hmmmm, I wonder if my mushrooms that are about 4" away will be alive when I get home.....LOL

I agree with the others, just one thing though, the coral will repopulate it's zooxanthellae algae, not zooplankton. ;)

Also my favia doesn't extend tentacles much farther than 1", those are the feeders though, maybe I just haven't seen the nasty long sweepers yet.
