our Scarlet Hawkfish who unexpectedly passed away on us not long ago, she was rediculously funny...never nipped an invert (while we were looking) she would just google eye them to death and i'm sure drool had she not been in water:)

I am also going with the color changing. Except my favorite is my gold-spotted rabbitfish. It might have something to do with most everyone else around doesn't like him all that well. I think he is beautiful, and I love how he changes colors when he is scared and sometimes when he is asleep. It is like having two fish in one.

    LOL

It's a toss up. I really want a Picasso Trigger but I would need another tank so I don't have one. I had a cowfish 20 years ago in my first tank. That guy was cool. Would look at you in ways other fish don't while flapping those tiny fins on that large body.

As far as fish I have go I'd have to go with the Tomato clown because of his personality and interactions with his BTA.

I have 2 favorites...one to look at and one for personality

My favorite fish that I have to look at is my female bellus angel. She is one of the coolest marked fish that I have seen, and love the buck tooth markings she has on her mouth. She is also getting streamers and some red in her color

my favorite fish for personality is my golden puffer..she has a personality of a puppy dog. Begs food all the time, and she has even allowed me to pet her
Here is her in the middle of a puff..she has only puffed for me thankfully 2x since I owned her, however this time I think it was due to stray voltage..poor baby

then of course my favorite invert is Bob my peacock mantis...smart, smart animal. Scary smart. He is getting ready for another molt and he was digging the snad out of his den. He started carrying out the sand, and then figured out to take a rock frag and scoot the rock and he could get more sand moved faster!

Uh oh! They are using tools now! How much longer until they are keeping us in tanks? I wish Mr. Fister would do cute stuff like that. What a slacker I haven't seen him moving sand in a while.

Rabbitfish are not reefsafe with LPS. I have one that is going to have to be sold. If you keep enough food in there it will keep them from nipping but they grow super fast and will need A LOT of food.

I keep two veggie clips stocked with macro algae at all times. My rabbitfish is definitely a pig no doubt about it. All I have right now are soft corals (xenia, kenya tree, neon green polyp) and he hasn't touched those at all. I will be sure to watch him very closely from now on.

Also I am planning on building a little contraption out of a rock and egg crate that I can put macro algae in and the fish will only be able to eat what grows past the egg crate. Kind of like a secondary refugium inside the tank.
