    Just before you go to harvest you should change out your carbon especially if you have anything in the tank that doesn't like a NO3 spike. My Elegance wads up in a ball for a couple days after a harvest if I don't change carbon.

    Once you get that coil cured up that will be a thing of the past.. :)

    caulerpa can die/go sexual and hurt your tank, but like the other person said if you keep light on it, (reverse photoperiods are great), and regularly harvest it it should be fine. If you are worried about it, (you should be after the investment a tank is), start with a small piece. If a small piece doesn't take, it can't do much damage.
