So I went to a LFS recently and feather dusters caught my eye... I've read up a bit about them on 3reef but my question is...

My tank (29 gallon) is just about finished cycling... Amonia-0 Nitrites-0 Nitrates roughly 40....

It is a FOWLR tank w/no fish yet as I heard its cruel to cycle w/fish... so now I want to know if it is ok for me to get a feather duster or is it to soon or should it not be done in FOWLR tanks?......

You need to get your nitrates down to below 20 before attempting the feather duster. Also figure out what fish you want before purchasing inverts. Find out if they will eat feather dusters.

What fish do you plan to keep?

+1, 2in10 is right on. There's a decent number of FOWLR type fish that won't eat dusters, but make sure before you start that none will eat it. The nitrates also need to come down before you try one.

I plan on getting a pair of O.Clowns, a fire goby, and maybe a dwarf angel (coral beauty?)

The angel will most likely go after the feather duster.

Well that just blows...I guess its ok... I'm just excited about getting my first fish!!!

I know this is the Inverts section but whats your advise If I plan on getting a small tank raised O.Clown and a b/w tank raised O.Clown... Do i need to get them together or can I get the small O.Clown first and wait a few weeks and let him grow and then add the b/w... Will I have issues w/them fighting ?
