    i have a clear white "bag" of debis at the base of my feather duster crown. the "bag stays out wen the crown retracts in to the tube. any idea what this bag could be? also you may notice by the pic the feather duster appears to be splitting. i have notice 2 dots on the beas of the crown and the feathers are starting to look kida of half moon shsape intead of circle.

    some organisms like that sometimes "shed" their tunic when they grow similar to a lizard or snake shedding it's skin. thats my 2cent, hope it clarifies somethings for you
