To be on the safe side, I used raw shrimp, live rock, live sand to cycle mine and waited 10 weeks. With just snails and hermit crabs to start..
Then at 12 weeks a fish or 2.. And I was working with a 60 gal..
But I was in no hurry, and wanted no problems..
Your tank is still very young.. Let it rest a few weeks..

    Good Luck, Larry

I'd give a 70% chance to grow back if you keep your water quality high, constant and food loaded (assuming it just shed it's crown, and didn't completely move). Mine did this when I first got it. Are you running a protein skimmer, AC or something else that would deplete it's food source? If you always keep some live phyto in the water that might help to.

BUMPED! here's an update on my wormy. he jumped out of his tube. in a few weeks he started growing back his crown but never made a new tube. now he's got some problem whose cause im not so sure, but he lost his mouth parts from it. whether that part was eaten or just died off before it got eaten... the verdict is yours. anyway, i placed it in the fuge. it's still alive though....i think?

Something is wrong with it to be in that condition, it looks like he is rotting away. I would pitch him....

My duster shed his crown last month, then after a week, he crawled out of his tube into the substrate and I haven't seen him since. After thinking that he was dead, a couple days ago, my wife said she saw it out of the substrate crawling around. She tried to move him and he crawled back under. I still haven't actually seen him myself. At least I know he's still alive.
