    If a clown does not host properly, manual feeding is needed. Meaty foods are needed though, whether it is through catching the food with it;s tentacles, or the hosting clown feeding it. So many times people think "anemones don't need food, they get their food from the light." Although this is true, the anemone needs meaty foods to feed the zooxanthellae. No food for the zooxanthellae means the zooxanthellae will die, which means no food for the anemone, which means say bye bye to the anemone. :(
    Brine shrimp is basically worthless as far as nutrition goes. Mysis shrimp is a much better way to go if silversides are not available.

    we have a red rose nem and been contemplating soaking my silversides in garlic while in the refrigerator. anyone else do this? good bad idea?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    If your BTA has good color and is growing, healthy and accepting food I would not change a thing.
