So I moved my clowns over to my new 28g home for them from my 120. They are looking good. But the female clown is showing extra aggression to the male. Is this because of new territory or is it possible by doing the move the female will not like the male anymore. They were a perfect pair in the big tank so just worried about my clowns. She keeps nudging him, darting around him back and forth like a dart and twitches funny.

My clowns did the same when I moved them out of my 90 to a 42 for breeding. I think she may be reasserting her dominance, but it stopped after a few days. Everything went back to normal. The only time you need to worry is if she starts latching on to his tail or gills, basically fighting with him. Then they will need to be separated.

thanks for your reply, yes today she is being less aggressive towards him and using the full tank. no nipping but lots of nudging was going on. they are both loving the 28g to themselves.

My female picasso harrasses the male too. He hides in caves that she can't fit in, and also hide in my frag box that I made. I think it's just one of those things when they are setting their boundaries.
