I have a 90 gallon DS with a 30 gallon sump/fuge. The main pump is an Ehiem 1262, rated at 910 GPH. In the DS, I currently have 2 Koralia 3s, rated at 850 GPH, and I'm thinking of adding one more. My questions are:

1 - how do I figure total flow/turnover? My pump is turning the tank in theory about 10x/hr, and then the 2 Koralias are moving another 18x/hr. Would my total turnover be considered about 28x/hr then, or are turnover and flow looked at separately?

2 - do I need another K3 in there? I have FOWLR now, but plan on building up some soft corals soon. I will most likely not be keeping any hard corals, mainly due to not wanting to get into a MH system.

    Thanks!

    Mike

You have enough flow for your desired goal.

BTW a 6X54W T5HO system will work perfectly well for SPS corals and clams.

Good to know that I have enough, thanks! Is there a good way to go about adjusting what I do have to make sure I don't have any "dead spots" in my tank? Or is it more trial and error?

Great to know about being able to keep SPS corals with T5s, all the LFS I have spoken to so far have told me not without MHs. I only have 2 T5s as of now, a blue A and a 10K, but I am planning on adding 2-4 more as soon as I find a deal on a retro kit.

Adjusting will be trial and error. Split your return flow to help in evening out your flow.

Stay away from actinic bulbs if you are growing SPS and clams they have very low PAR the light type that corals need to thrive.
