Congrats on no more GHA! I had that stuff all overrrr and this other stuff I forgot the name of. But once its gone the tank looks so much better. I just recently put my tank inside a cabinet and left the doors closed, pc lights really do run hot and they made the tank raise to 83-84. Fortunately all I have is snails and crabs, but I did notice I now have a big diatom and algae bloom. Maybe the temp swing has something to do with it?

oh wow that looks awesome. i know the feeling. when i got gha i didnt even want to look at my tank. but its all gone and now i spend hours just watching.

    congrats to ya.

getting rid of this horrid algae is like a graduation for reefers, or like popping the reef cherry. you get the feeling of being that much more experienced for such an accomplishment. karma to ya

Yes, yes...you have made the rite of passage! Now, don't get alarmed but the tank may go through another less (to some degree) "phase" at about the 7-8 month mark. I use Marine-Max by Tropical Science once a month to break down the "sludge" and detritus. The aquarium looks real nice. Stay on top of your elemental parameters along with Alk and may you enjoy a healthy reef environment.
