Yippy, I am ordering my new lights tonight and I am so excited that I had to share it with someone. I am getting the current Nova Extreme 4 x 54 watt T5 ho. I will be able to get some new corals soon.

Anyone have suggestions on the best way to acclimate my tank to the new lights? I was thinking of only running 2 bulbs and then eventually end with the 4. how long would you do this for?

thanks and have a great weekend.;D

    HI Nemo,

Congratulations! I know it's been a hard road to this end. You've got the exact right idea, run two lights and then upgrade to three and finally four. I'd suggest you remove one light from each switch at first. Run one light for ~12 hours and have the second turn on for ~8-9 hours. Then, after a week or a little less add one more to the second cydle so you have one turn on and then two more a little later. After one more week add the fourth light. In all honesty it may be easier to move your corals a little lower in the water than deal with all of this. Plus, this will give you a chance to evaluate your aquascaping and water flow. Either way, just take your time and you should be fine. Best of luck and keep us posted on the pictures.

Oh I will let everyone know how it goes and my flow is great but moving some of my corals would be a problem...my ric rock is glued to my LR and my xenia have moved half on and half off of rocks...the rest is mid to bottom tank. I don't have alot in there but I will definitly run the lights as you suggested. My clowns will need spf 30 and sunglasses..lol
