I was wondering if anyone has a tank of just firefish? Like with nice size school in a tank with plants or similar material. I am thinking of maybe going this route in my 75 if I don't go with the trigger and lionfish.
    Thanks.

You will need to add all of the fish at once. Stay with the red firefish for this the purples are more territorial. You might be able to keep 6 to 8.

You might be able to very hard to tell. I would think the closer together you do it the better.

I also suggest searching the web to see what you can find.

O yeah, I will. This project isn't going to be started till summer or so. This is a little bit of my research. I am starting now, to figure out what I want. No regrets that way.

I have kept them in groups of 3 and 5, basically because I heard odd numbers are best. Here is an image of my trio. I ordered all from the LFS, recieved them before they went to the LFS tanks. Younger fish are preferred. They ship poorly so you might have to try more than once. I never had any aggression issues. There was always one that developed into the dominate male.

O very cool Corailline! odd number huh? I heard that with tiger barbs too. Are the firefish a lot more active in a little group? Are they like clownfish, but opposite? most dominate becoming a male instead of a female.

Actually I have no idea of how they mature sexually. I got all when really young because in my research it said the younger the better and odd numbers. It was somewhat weird how you can tell the male, his coloration changes a little but he holds his fins differently that the rest of the group. All he had to do was twitch oh so slightly and all the others bolted to their holes in the rockwork. The are initially very shy and big time jumpers so a lid is a most.

When one was out they would all come out and very active and good eaters after acclimations, I addrd 2 more shortly after but they never stood still longer enough to get a group picture.

They are one of the few fish I would keep again. I liked them for their coloration and passive nature.
