firefish

my firefish has a weird triangular shaped bump under his body. he seems completely fine other than that. any ideas of what this could be?

 

Can you get a pic of the bump? I know it is very difficult. Where exactly is the bump?

 

so never got to put a picture up because it just mysteriously vanished. kinda weird considering i had just noticed it. is this anything serious or heard of?

 

Has he been eating well? Is the bump around the stomach area? It could be starving.. Just trying to poke ideas around.

My Firefish had a small dent under him one time because I went in a trip for the weekend and the person that was supposed to make sure the fish ate, well..... didn't really do that so he was starving. try feeding and watching if it eats.

well its not really a dent it was just a weird triangular looking bump underneath him near his stomach. hes eating fine though. =)

 

I'm pretty sure I see what your talking about on both my purple fire fish. The female has a bigger one. It looks petty normal to me or at least what I see on mine seems fine.

 

Have you found him? can you take a picture?

 

yeah hes out and about right now but it went away after that night... so unfortunately i cant take any pics.

 

ok i just talked to someone and they suggested its possible he was moving some of the crushed coral around and possibly ate it. ...this sounds very possible considering its gone now and he seems perfectly healthy to me.
