Well I just ordered my first anemone: a Magnificent Anemone from Live Aquaria. ;D

I know this isn't the ideal first anemone, but I've done lots of research and feel satisfied that my tank is capable of successfully keeping one. It should be in Friday morning. I'll be sure to post pictures! Any final tips from anyone before I get it?

Just a quick question, what kind of lighting do you have? I know you said you did your research but you know it's not ideal to put a nem in a tank that's under a year old? I'm not saying it can't be done, just not recommended. Hope if does well for you.

I have one, my tank is over a year old now. I love it, find it quite easy to keep with the exception that it moves around frequently. it's been with me for almost 4 months now and seems to be thriving. Not sure how big yours is but mine is huge and can easily knock over rock thats not stable. Keep your nitate levels as close to 0ppm as possible

2x Ice Cap 175w MH with Iwasaki bulbs.
    4x Ice Cap T12 Actinic (440w total)

I'm placing it in the top third of the tank directly under one of the MHs. There will be one K4 pointed in its direction and a return nozzle pointed at it on a SCWD. The main reason people recommend not getting an anemone for a tank under a year old is the possibility of parameter swings. Its a 120g system so swings wont happen quickly, and I'm confident in the tanks filtration and my ability to watch the parameters fine. Its been running for two months at 0 Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and Phosphate. Calcium is stable at 460ppm and Mag is 1450ppm.

I haven't covered them up yet, but I have filter material handy. I'll be home most of the day to watch it if it decides to move.

Yep Nitrates have been at 0 for two months now. Yours look beautiful! I am a bit nervous about receiving a nem that I haven't personally selected, but I trust Live Aquaria isn't running a shady operation, bleaching nems etc.

And it just arrived! Amazing how something can go from California to Florida in under a day.

First thoughts? I'm not sure the mouth part looks like it should. What do you guys think?

EDIT: It looks like it is slowly pulling all the white part back inside and closing its mouth.
