I just went to the store and picked up two black ocellaris clownfish. I just dripped acclimated them. Not sure I did it correctly. I used air tubing and a sprinkler dripper. I think it worked alright because The clownfish looks fine the quarantine tank. They are swimming around great. I put some PVC pipe in the tank but they are just ignoring them. Any advice?

Congrats on the Clownfish. They're very pretty! I'm pretty sure you acclimated correctly. It looks like something was nipping at one of the Clown's fins. Just observe them for a while and then if they look healthy in a couple of weeks or a month, then you can add them to your tank.

    Those are sweet!

Are they eating for you yet?

If not try mysid, cycloop and what ever the dealer you got them from was feeding.

Also try not to over feed, in attempt to get them to eat. New clowns sometimes do not eat for several days.

    Congratulations.

Yeah, unfortunately I had a little tragedy yesterday.. They were doing fine in my quarantine tank and they I noticed that they were breathing hard.I did a water change( water from the display tank) but nothing improved.. So I kinda panicked and put them in my display tank. One of the clowns was thriving, but the other was still having trouble breathing... So I turned off the lights and I let them re cooperate. A few hours later I noticed that one was missing. I started to panic even more!! After frantically searching for him, I finally found him under a rock.... :'(.

    Ahh sorry.

Well it's hard not to panic sometimes.

Try to get another clown from the same group if you can as they seem sexually immature judging from the photos.

When in question about something always make one change at a time and wait a while for results.

    1. Test water for ammonia and nitrites.
    2. If elevated add Prime or equiv product.
    3. Do small water change and retest.

Testing the QT daily or at signs of trouble is very important, the QT does not have the filtering capacity initially.

I have been testing it with the API test kits. Also, I have been using stability in that tank. Here is a picture of the one remaining.

Well the same clownfish went off sale today. So I don't feel like spending 40$ for a clownfish right now. Will I be alright with one? Any other fish you would suggest for the tank? It is a 29g tank with a spotted goby, yt damsel, and a black clownfish. Maybe thinking like a fire fish or a dwarf angel.
