This morning i went and picked up my first 2 frags at the lfs, i bought a pulsating xenia and a hammer.... Both of them are really cool to look at!!! (I have 260 watts pc in a 55 gal)

My question is when i got later home at night i turned off the pc's (the white off first then the atinic an hour later) and then turned on the lunar lights. My xenia closed up scrunched up.... is this normal???????

    thanks in advance,
    frank

Yup, with no lights this is what most corals will do.

yep most photosynthetic corals will close up at night. there are a few exceptions but I won't go into that here. You really need to keep an eye on your ca. alk and mag. Working at the lfs, I have found these numbers associated with alot of dead hammer corals as well as other euphyllia species
