First Fish In ?

A Yellow Tang is probably the worst first addition you can make. They can be highly aggresive to newcomers.

 

Three Cardinals the best to start with ?

 

Three cardinals will be going in this evening, once they arrive. How long do you need to wait before you should add the next inhabitants ? I know the system needs to adjust to the new bio load. Figured two months or so and then add two more. Give me some time to research some more of my choices.

 

They can be, but not all yellow tangs are the same. I added a hippo tang, clown, and neon cleaner goby with a yellow tang, and the Tang showed little no aggression. I was worried about adding the hippo, but he just gets the occasional nudge when they are chowing down on red gracilaria and nori. Not a big deal. Guess it just depends on the fish.

 

IMO opinion you dont need to wait that long. I try to wait about a week or so between additions, and have never had any problems.

 

Thanks, Good to know. Getting fish this time of year is a little difficult. Will see if the not so local fish store can order me some fish in.
