    I looked into just putting a float valve on the storage tank but the manufacture of the filter said I would damage the filters. There is a RO/DI shut off valve that I need to purchase and install with the float valve to make it work.

    I fail to see his point. As far as the filters are concerned, you're stopping the water flow. Period. How is irrelevant to them. I assume the manufacturer just happens to sell the so-called "RO/DI shut-off" valve you *need*?

    You stop the water flow out of the DI unit but it doesnt stop the water flow out the RO filter. the water just stops going through the DI unit and continues to run through the other filters.
